About The Position

Ewing Outdoor Supply is seeking an excellent Part Time Seasonal customer service associate for their Shreveport, LA branch. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and safety, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced distribution warehouse environment. This role involves both warehouse and customer service duties, requiring the ability to flex and lift 50-70 lbs. The position also offers opportunities to build skill sets and product knowledge, assisting at the sales counter as the associate grows within the company. Ewing Outdoor Supply has been a leader in the green industry for over 104 years, is family-owned, and prides itself on working hard for customers, growing employees, and having fun.

Requirements

  • Ability to flex and lift 50-70 lbs.
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Be able to lift 50-70 pounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships.
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good driving record with no traffic violations.
  • Must be comfortable working most of your shift on your feet and performing repetitive physical tasks, such as stooping, squatting, and lifting items above your head.
  • Must be comfortable operating and making deliveries on a daily route in an Isuzu NRR 650 or similar commercial vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior green industry and landscape experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Proven work experience as a Customer Service Associate, Sales Associate, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers and go the extra mile.
  • Greet and direct customers.
  • Provide accurate information regarding product features, pricing, and after-sales services.
  • Answer customer questions about specific products/services.
  • Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing.
  • Cross-sell products.
  • Ensure racks are fully stocked.
  • Manage returns of merchandise.
  • Coordinate with the team to provide excellent customer service, especially during peak times.
  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers.
  • Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services.
  • Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
  • Follow routes and time schedules.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve client complaints.
  • Inform customers about new products and services.
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks such as stooping, squatting, and lifting items above head.
  • Operate and make deliveries on a daily route in an Isuzu NRR 650 or similar commercial vehicle.
