About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Customer Solutions Manager (CSM) to join our Worldwide Public Sector SLG/EDU team to help customers realize sustained business value by accelerating their cloud transformation journey. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen. Customer Solutions Managers (CSMs) are advocates guiding customers through the value realization, enablement, and governance of their cloud transformation journey. You drive customer value realization and support transformation objectives within defined accounts or business units, ensuring adoption leads to measurable outcomes such as efficiency gains, cost savings, or growth through the adoption of AWS services, AWS partner solutions, AWS best practices, and other. You help customers achieve organizational cloud readiness, cloud fluency and cloud skills through skills guilds, experience-based accelerators, training partners, and other. You implement governance to maintain alignment, manage risks through effective escalation, and establish and mature operating models / structures to drive scale and long-term success through the application of AWS frameworks and mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field
  • 3+ years of leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion experience
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, engaging with customer executives, technologists or partners to solve business problems with advanced technologies
  • Experience demonstrating technical breadth in AWS and/or cloud fundamentals
  • US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • AWS or other cloud certification
  • Knowledge of the software development/engineering lifecycle from conception to delivery or IT lifecycle
  • Experience coordinating between project teams and customers to meet unique customer requirements
  • Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer value realization and support transformation objectives within defined accounts or business units, ensuring adoption leads to measurable outcomes such as efficiency gains, cost savings, or growth through the adoption of AWS services, AWS partner solutions, AWS best practices, and other.
  • Help customers achieve organizational cloud readiness, cloud fluency and cloud skills through skills guilds, experience-based accelerators, training partners, and other.
  • Implement governance to maintain alignment, manage risks through effective escalation, and establish and mature operating models / structures to drive scale and long-term success through the application of AWS frameworks and mechanisms.
  • Balance your time between directly engaging with customers, partners, internal AWS teams and services to help our customers on their journey in the AWS Cloud.
  • Apply your technical, business, and program management expertise to solve some of the most complex and challenging technology problems for our customers.
  • Operate in complex or undefined environments with growing strategic perspective and minimal guidance, applying established strategies to create clarity.
  • Define opportunities that are strategic to the customer’s cloud journey including large-scale migrations, data analytics, digital transformation and innovation, business agility and other.
  • Build relationships with key project-level stakeholders, influencing adoption decisions and building alignment across teams while gaining exposure to senior decision makers.
  • Interface with partner and cross-functional teams, customer team members, and pre/post sales to drive detailed discussions seeking alignment to deliver cloud adoption and migration strategies with, and on behalf of your customer.
  • Translate technical and business requirements into comprehensive adoption roadmaps that align with business objectives, ensuring solutions deliver measurable value.
  • Lead customer initiatives with challenging business objectives and technical requirements for specific workloads, managing multiple streams of work and negotiating resources as needed.
  • Create, manage, and deliver business and technology projects navigating risks or roadblocks and can execute in an ambiguous and changing environment.
  • Share best practice learnings into a reusable asset for internal re-use.
  • Mentor team members on execution and technical approaches.
