Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of job-related experience (i.e. customer service, medical records, medical office)
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service at all times
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive team player with great interpersonal skills, demonstrates a high degree of adaptability and the ability to handle rapid change
  • Possess a high level of energy, ability to work efficiently in a very high pace environment and a Self- starter
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a very strong attention to detail and accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Strong customer service skills and experience acting as the first point of contact in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service or administrative assistant experience working in a Public Health or Social Services setting
  • Experience working in a Medical and/or finance setting
  • Experience with Health & Human Services Programs: NC FAST, OnBase, NCIR, Athena, WIC, SharePoint and Medical Records

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist clients as they enter the building, providing excellent in‑person and phone‑based customer service
  • Identify client needs, register them for services, update records, schedule appointments, and provide accurate program information
  • Support public health clinics by registering patients, scanning documents, and performing quality checks on electronic records
  • Provide operational support to Economic Services, including searching and updating cases in NCFAST, determining documentation needs, and scanning/indexing into OnBase
  • Collect and process payments for County services, including property taxes and Health & Human Services fees; balance daily cash drawer and prepare bank deposits
  • Issue certified Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates and assist with clinic service charges
