About The Position

MasTec is currently seeking a Customer Service Specialist to work as an FPL representative for the Storm Secure Underground Program. This program analyzes data from past hurricanes, vegetation-related service interruptions, and other reliability metrics to identify areas that would most benefit from having power lines placed underground. MasTec has completed hundreds of these neighborhood projects and plans to continue bringing the benefits of undergrounding to more customers in the years ahead.

Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalent.
2 years of customer service experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Must have a Florida notary.
Ability to drive company vehicles.
Ability to read and understand construction and engineering plans.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Associate degree.

Responsibilities

Contact each property owner to discuss the project and proposed equipment placement with customer or relocating equipment based on customer preferences.
Execute and notarize FPL real estate easements.
Gain the customer’s agreement to proceed with the project as planned and acquire all necessary signatures for easements and acknowledgement forms.
Buy and wear steel-toe boots daily while working in the field and wear all other required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a 950+ Driver score as driving habits are monitored by driver cameras in company vehicles.
Conduct ongoing communication with property owners and occupants throughout all stages of the project, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Utilize great customer service and communication skills, as well as purposeful follow-up and documentation skills.
Professionally communicate in person, over the phone, and via email with customers, staff, and vendors.
Read and understand construction and engineering plans.
Coordinate special projects as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
