About The Position

The UVA Bookstore is currently in search for a responsible and motivated candidate who enjoys providing exemplary customer service while managing the daily operations required within a retail environment. Must be proficient in cashier and computer functions, stocking sales floor, and receive merchandise and transfers. All of these proficiencies will be in accordance with established policies and procedures. Candidate must be able to work independently, perform all opening and closing functions while ensuring all inventory assets are secure. The location of this position is at the Sabre Shop located within the Aquatic Fitness Center.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Basic computer knowledge including use of Microsoft applications, email, and other basic functions.
  • Computer and Cash register experience.
  • Ability to operate a POS/computer system
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Enthusiasm for athletics and sporting goods
  • 2 - 3 years of customer service experience

Benefits

  • This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.
