About The Position

CHC Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a passionate Health Care Customer Service Specialist – Orthopedic to join our team in the Pittsburgh, PA (Robinson Township) office. CHC Solutions, Inc. provides medical supplies to patients with a focus on outstanding customer service. We are headquartered near Pittsburgh, PA and have multiple locations throughout the Eastern United States. We receive an order from doctors and their staff, verify the products are covered by the patient’s insurance, the supplies are shipped to them, and we bill their insurance. Everything we do is about improving the patient experience. Caring is the difference.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with computer systems and software applications
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in time management, organization, multitasking, prioritization and follow-through in dynamic environments
  • Comfortable and effective working in fast-paced settings
  • Capable of working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of orthopedic DME and health care experience
  • Possess customer service experience in the orthopedic industry

Responsibilities

  • Receive orders electronically (or via phone and fax) and gather required information for processing.
  • Enter patient demographics and orders into the billing system, ensuring all details are accurate and present.
  • Verify insurance coverage for ordered items using our company system and document eligibility for the patient.
  • Ensures necessary clinical documentation, including the patient’s medical records, justifies the medical need for the item ordered by the physician.
  • Review financial responsibility with patients.
  • Enter orders according to prescription/physician instructions.
  • Keep patients and referrals informed about timelines, delays and costs.
  • Record all communication with customers, doctors and insurance providers.
  • Prioritize urgent or emergency orders.
  • Provide product education as requested by patients.
  • Participate in educational training on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge of products dispensed by the company.
  • Report any incidents or complaints to the immediate supervisor and complete appropriate paperwork to document the occurrence.
  • Comply with all applicable CHC Solutions, Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards in respect to patient care.
