About The Position

Central Transport, LLC, a leader in LTL (less-than-truckload) transportation for more than 90 years, is currently looking to help you grow professionally by becoming a Customer Service Representative for our Corporate Office in Warren, MI. While this client relations role is a critical position to maintain customer perception within our organization, it is also a great “first office job” to help you get started in your career or continue to grow the skills you already have. Our representatives are provided with in-depth training which will develop your professional office skills. This is a tremendous opportunity for college students able to work full time, recent graduates, and those ready to get back into the professional workforce!

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age.
  • Excellent attendance and the ability to work Monday through Friday.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Outlook), and willingness to learn company specific systems.
  • Ability for detailed note taking.
  • Upbeat personality/positive outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Address customer inquiries via phone and email including tracking/tracing, scheduling pick up requests, process instruction, and rate quotes.
  • Research issues using available resources.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation for each customer interaction.
  • Communicate effectively with internal parties as necessary regarding the needs of specific shipments.
  • Handle a variety of scenarios with the ability to think decisively.
