As a Customer Service Representative, you will assist patients with hospital check-ins, providing support and answering questions during the registration process. The role can be fast-paced and requires building trust by accurately and quickly collecting information, while also listening with compassion to address patient fears, concerns, and questions. To succeed, you need to be a confident multi-tasker, quick with technology, and proficient in typing and phone communication. No prior healthcare experience or knowledge is required, as comprehensive training will be provided, making this an ideal entry point into a healthcare career. The position is in a hospital/lab environment, so you must be prepared to encounter illness and injuries. Prior to hire, candidates must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Help patients check into the hospital
  • Answer questions during registration
  • Collect information accurately and quickly
  • Listen with compassion to address patient fears, concerns, and questions
  • Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment
  • Work across multiple screens, inputting details correctly between physician and nurse check-ins
  • Feel comfortable working across multiple programs and typing as quickly as patients can talk
  • Work around clinicians who may interrupt the registration process for emergent clinical care
  • Help people who may be very ill or worried, listening carefully to ease their anxiety
  • Ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time
  • Assist patients complete their registration, often on your feet
