About The Position

Serves as the first point of contact for customers at The Ohio State University (OSU) Airport. This role is responsible for preparing the full-service fixed based operation (FBO) for opening and/or closing. The representative will greet customers in person or over the phone, answering questions about the OSU aviation program, FBO services, and events hosted at the airport. Responsibilities include using a two-way radio to dispatch requests to line service staff, referring complex customer service issues to higher authorities, performing manual retail tasks, and providing clerical assistance with car rental services. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of services and phone logs, registering transient aircraft and pilots, updating the electronic schedule board, and communicating with flight crews to ensure customer demands are met. Additionally, the representative will oversee the scheduling, coordination, and billing of Knowlton Flight Center meeting rooms and act as a lead worker for student employees, assisting with task assignment and instruction. Other administrative tasks as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in customer service or communications.
  • Demonstrated experience using computers, file management, and document preparation and distribution.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Per Classified Civil Service Specs or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Refer customer service issues to a higher authority for further resolution or action.
  • Perform manual tasks related to retail services.
  • Provide clerical assistance with operations car rental services.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of services and phone logs.
  • Register transient aircraft and pilots upon arrival and update electronic schedule board.
  • Communicate with private and corporate flight crews to ensure the customer demands are met accurately and on time.
  • Oversee scheduling, coordinating, and billing of all Knowlton Flight Center meeting rooms.
  • Act as a lead worker over student employees and assist with assigning and providing instructions on various tasks.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
