About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Customer Service Representative at Barkefellers – Westfield. The role focuses on welcoming pet parents and their pets, providing friendly and professional customer service, and helping clients access the facility’s pet-care services. The representative supports the customer experience throughout visits, from tours and service sales to check-in, check-out, and responding to concerns. The position also involves handling payments, maintaining vaccination records, keeping the lobby clean, and assisting teammates as needed.

The role requires frequent standing and walking, availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to lift 40 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. At least one weekend shift on Saturday or Sunday is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills by phone, in person, and email.
• Ability to use multi-line phone systems and computer systems.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure and solve problems.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• At least one weekend shift on either Saturday or Sunday is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Experience with pets.

Responsibilities

• Welcome pet parents and their pets to the facility.
• Answer phones and multitask while providing customer service.
• Tour prospective clients through the facility and sell available services.
• Ensure pet vaccination records are up to date.
• Manage customer check-ins and check-outs.
• Handle cash and card payments and balance the end-of-day cash drawer.
• Respond to complaints patiently and professionally.
• Escort pet guests to and from their enclosures.
• Keep the lobby clean and welcoming.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
