The Seminole County Tax Collector is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) responsible for clerical duties involved in the preparation, processing, and fee collection for various services including vehicle registration and titling, vessel registration and titling, disabled persons parking placards, sales tax, property tax, tangible personal property tax, local business tax renewals, and the issuance of Florida driver licenses and hunting and fishing licenses. This role involves reviewing documents, data entry, and money collection within established balancing procedures, performed under the general direction of appropriate staff. Responsibilities may also include processing Concealed Weapons Permits and/or birth certificates. The position may require assignments to multiple service branch offices or tax-related duties, including reviewing tax information, collecting funds, assisting with escrow accounts, providing tax information, updating data, processing corrections, preparing refund requisitions, reviewing and combining bills, processing overpayments, explaining taxing authorities, calculating pro-rated taxes, and staying aware of tax schedules. Additional duties include calculating redemption amounts for tax certificates, processing redemption payments, disbursing funds, receiving tax deed applications, initiating title searches, processing certifications, distributing funds to taxing authorities, and handling bankruptcy notices by researching tax rolls, filing claims, and maintaining pending files. The role also requires entering bankruptcy codes into the tax roll. Employees may be assigned to other county locations based on operational needs, must attend work regularly, adhere to ordinances, respond to emergencies, and perform other assigned duties.
