Inlet Petroleum Company was founded in 1986, originally as a Chevron distributor. Today, it is the only Chevron 1st Source Elite marketer in the state. In 2005, Inlet Petroleum became part of the Saltchuk family of companies, and Inlet’s operations became a part of Delta Western, infusing the customer service culture with equal emphasis on safety. In 2018, NorthStar Energy recognized the enduring power of the Inlet brand which customers associated with exceptional service and thought leadership. After a refresh, Inlet Petroleum Company became Inlet Energy. With over 40 employees housed in a newly constructed building on Ship Avenue in Anchorage, Inlet Energy is equipped with over 40,000 square feet of warehouse storage, a state-of-the-art 100,000-gallon bulk tank farm, and its own fleet of bulk fuel and lubricant trucks. Inlet Energy provides exceptional customer service to retail, commercial, and government customers in Alaska. Inlet's team of professionals has the most Certified Lubrication Specialists (CLS), Oil Monitoring Analysts (OMA-1), and Machine Lubricant Analysts (MLA) in the state. Inlet Energy is based out of Anchorage with operations in Kenai, Fairbanks, and Prudhoe Bay. The inlet is also a major fuel distributor for the road system from the Kenai Peninsula to Fairbanks.
