About The Position

The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for building a healthy, inclusive and vibrant City, as well as ensuring that communities, residents and visitors have access to the recreation and cultural places, programs, events and services that allow them to experience all the benefits the City has to offer, and overseeing Buildings and Facilities Management for improved service delivery integration, ensuring the best possible client experience in City facilities. You are responsible for providing support to the Recreation Facility, Arts Centre or programs assigned in functional areas of cash management, clerical/administrative support, technical duties, program registration and information, program support, general supervision, and quality service to our customers.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 11
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative role and working with the public
  • Demonstrated expertise with computers and an ability to develop a comprehensive understanding and expertise with corporate software applications required, (Word, Excel, Presentations, Class, Electronic Cash Management Systems, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Office and administrative procedures
  • Word processing skills
  • Highly developed and effective communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work in a multi-task environment.
  • Demonstrated effective decision-making and judgement.
  • Able to format documents in various software programs.
  • Set up and maintain records and information management systems, hard copy and electronic.
  • Ability to work effectively in both a team setting and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Ability to relate positively and effectively with a wide diversity of people.
  • Understanding of cash management and process systems.
  • Problem- solving skills.
  • Displays initiative, reliability and flexibility.
  • Clear Communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in an environment, which has multiple demands and changing priorities.
  • Current Standard First Aid certificate
  • Current CPR - 2-rescuer certificate
  • Current AED Operator certificate
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of college diploma in Administration, Recreation or related field, combined with a minimum of 6 months of experience, is desirable
