About The Position

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to the patrons of the Skokie Park District that either walk-in or telephone. Greets internal and external customers, processes registrations, provides information about District programs, facilities and events. Answers the telephones in a professional manner. Preferred availability: Monday, Wednesday and Friday; from 8:15 am - 12:00 pm.

Requirements

  • Must be an adult 18 years of age.
  • Must posses a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must have proficient computer skills and be able to use office software.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep current CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

  • Processes program registration through the RecTrac registration system.
  • Process program and facility registrations, passes, permits and sales specific to facility.
  • Process end of shift paperwork and receipts, manage transactions including cash, checks, credit cards and Skokie Park District gift cards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the front desk and display area.
  • Communicates with the Customer Service Supervisor, custodial staff, and Facility Manager with regard to activities and events, specific set-ups and special considerations.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and handle inquires with regard to Skokie Park District programs and events.
  • Assist supervisors and staff members with various office jobs as needed.
  • Greet and communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Responsible for following proper recycling procedures.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Opens, closes and secures facility following written procedures and/or checklists.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Incorporates the District's core values of commitment, service, integrity, inclusiveness, openness, innovation and environmental stewardship in all work performed.
  • Adheres to and actively enforces the safety responsibilities and safety procedures as outlined in the District's Safety Manual and overall risk management program.

Benefits

  • This job falls in paygrade PT4.
  • The target hiring range for this position is $16.00 depending on qualifications.
