About The Position

This position is for a Customer Service Representative Administrative Assistant II within the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Northeast Region. The primary purpose of this role is to provide customer service to CPW customers through various channels including walk-in, phone, and email. This includes the sale of wildlife and state park products, maintenance of customer records, and providing information. The position also handles payments for licenses, fees, and citations, and operates a cash register. Additionally, the role involves answering customer inquiries about hunting, fishing, state parks, licenses, permits, wildlife regulations, and conflict prevention. Internal customer service and administrative duties include dispatching for officers, managing office equipment, maintaining logs, stocking supplies, managing mail, ordering office supplies, ensuring machine operability, liaising with repair vendors, and data entry. The position also supports event planning for customer service operations.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, Program or project management, Administrative Assistant, Front Desk, Call center, office environment, project management, handling of money, customer service (internal or external) or experience related to the work assigned to this position.
  • A combination of related education in Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, Biology, Aquatic Biology/Fishery Science/Aquaculture/Fishery Management, Economics, Public Administration, Communications, Public Engagement/volunteer management, Education, Business, Program Management/Project Management, Computer Science, Applied Computing, Computer Engineering, IT, Accounting, Finance and/or relevant experience equal to two (2) years.
  • State of Colorado residency is required at the time of application.
  • Background Check required.
  • Criminal History (handles cash/firearms) and Driving Record (drives state vehicles) check required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Required to travel throughout assigned area.
  • May be required to stay overnight depending on meeting schedules.
  • Travel in adverse weather and road conditions may be possible.
  • Single and overnight travel throughout the state at times is required to attend staff meetings/trainings, drive vehicle to shop, or obtain equipment not available through delivery.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to CPW customers (walk-in, call-in, email).
  • Sell wildlife and state park products, including licenses, passes, and registrations.
  • Maintain customer records in a database.
  • Provide information to customers through direct communication, brochures, and bulletin boards.
  • Handle payments for licenses, fees, citations, and run a cash register.
  • Answer phones and discuss hunting, fishing, state parks, license and permit products, wildlife regulations, and conflict prevention.
  • Provide internal customer service through administrative duties.
  • Dispatch calls for officers requiring field responses.
  • Manage regional office copy machines and other office equipment.
  • Maintain animal seals log and stock supplies.
  • Handle front desk duties and contact with volunteers.
  • Distribute mail and order office supplies.
  • Ensure office machines are operational and serve as a contact with repair vendors.
  • Input information into various databases.
  • Assist with event planning for customer service operations.
  • Organize and issue road kill permit books to various NE Region offices and log distribution.
  • Create, print, and organize customer information packets.
