About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking phone orders, inventory management, and cleaning. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to perform basic math, and proficiency in using a computer keyboard or touch screen for order entry. The work environment can involve varying temperatures, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, and depth perception. Temperaments needed are the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. Most tasks are performed standing, with walking in short distances. Sitting is primarily for paperwork. Lifting and carrying involve items up to 50 pounds, with stacking up to 72 inches high. Driving is required for deliveries within a designated area. Pushing and pulling are involved with trays on dollies. Climbing stairs or ladders may be infrequent. Stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching are performed continuously for various tasks. Hand tasks require eye-hand coordination and involve continuous use of hands for tasks like shaping dough, using tools, and grasping items.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
