About The Position
This role involves operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, and receiving/processing telephone orders. Daily cleaning of equipment and the facility is also required. Orientation and on-the-job training will be provided. The position requires strong communication skills for interacting with customers and co-workers, both verbally and in writing, to process orders accurately over the phone and in person. Essential functions include quick and accurate mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), making correct monetary change, and utilizing computer keyboards or touchscreens for order entry. The work environment includes exposure to varying in-store temperatures, potential fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters. Workers will encounter hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments suited for this role include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work both independently and collaboratively, handle stress, meet quality standards, interact with people, analyze data, and make sound judgments and decisions. Requirements
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
- Ability to add/subtract/multiply and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
- Must be able to make correct monetary change
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen
