About The Position

This role involves operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, and receiving/processing telephone orders. Daily cleaning of equipment and the facility is required, along with taking inventory and completing associated paperwork. Training and orientation are provided on the job. The position requires the ability to comprehend and give written instructions, and to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers for order processing. Essential functions include accurate arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), making correct monetary change, and strong verbal, writing, and telephone skills. Motor coordination for rapid and accurate hand/finger movements is necessary, as is the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The work environment includes varying weather conditions, in-store temperatures ranging from 36 to over 90 degrees, sudden temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces up to 500 degrees, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions.

Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position.
Walking: Generally in short distances for short durations.
Lifting: Bulk product deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Carrying: Large cans weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces; pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds; trays of pizza dough weighing approximately 12 pounds per tray.
Pushing: Performed to move trays which are placed on dollies.
Climbing: Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking ingredients.
Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.
Reaching: Performed continuously; up, down and forward.
Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination is essential. Use of hands is continuous during the day. Frequently activities require use of one or both hands. Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists. Manipulate a pizza peel. Frequent and/or forceful pinching is required in the assembly of cardboard pizza boxes. Grasp cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
