About The Position

The Customer Lead assists the Front End during and after customer transactions. In the absence of a Food Lion to Go (FLTGO) associate, the Customer Lead can act as a FLTGO Runner, delivering customer orders to their cars while adhering to company standards. The Customer Lead is expected to role model "Count on me Behaviors": Know what To Do, Make it Easy, Do Your Part, and Care. This role ensures Front End associates are delivering on expected service standards for both Full Service Lanes and Express Lanes, following specific procedures for customer flow and calling for sales assistance when needed.

Requirements

  • Ensure Front End associates are delivering on expected service standards.
  • Coach cashiers.
  • Unload Groceries to Belt.
  • Bagging Groceries.
  • Assist with groceries to the car.
  • Perform Voids, refunds, overrides.
  • Issue Rain-checks.
  • Assist customers at MVP kiosk (when needed).
  • Assist with Alpha Keepers.
  • Maintain Re-shop Baskets, (ensure groceries are returned in a timely manner to maintain cold chain).
  • Fill Cigarette Drawers as needed, where applicable.
  • Monitors "Spot cleaning" or "Touch Up" cleaning in customer seating areas where applicable.
  • Assist as FLTGO Runner when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Has a sense of urgency for all Customer Service functions/tasks/roles.
  • Moves fluidly between all lanes to assist customers – this includes Belted Scan and Bag and Mini EAB.
  • Unload customer’s groceries from their cart to the belt on both Belted Scan and Bag and Mini EAB lanes.
  • While unloading the items from the shopping cart, unload items that you want to be scanned and bagged together to make it easier for the Sales Associate to scan the items and for items to be properly bagged (example: All cold, all produce, all canned, etc.).
  • Assist with bagging at Mini EAB lanes and ensure items are loaded back into the cart for the customer.
  • Obtain items from the Kiosk/Storage area for Customers (Formula, Cigarettes, other).
  • Assist the Front End from a “During Transaction” to the Customer’s final trip to their car.
  • Smile and provides prompt & friendly bagging service.
  • Engage and interact with customers to create a positive shopping experience.
  • Display proper bagging skills (Reference POS Operation).
