Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis processors. The role involves preparing the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, and responding to specific alarms or signals. The technician will disconnect the donor when the process is complete, maintain alertness for any donor reactions, and notify appropriate staff. Duties include using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents and link equipment to donors, alerting supervisors of donor flow issues, and ensuring accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system. The role also requires understanding hyper immune programs, maintaining a clean work environment, following Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies, promoting safety, and maintaining confidentiality. Cross-training in other areas may be required, and bilingual skills may be necessary. Job-related duties will be assigned.
