Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis processors. The role involves preparing the autopheresis machine, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms, and disconnecting the donor upon completion. The technician must maintain alertness for donor reactions, record incidents using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), link equipment to donors, and alert supervisors of flow issues. Accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system is crucial. Understanding policies for hyper immune programs, maintaining a clean work environment, and following Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies are also key responsibilities. Confidentiality of information is mandatory. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) may be required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
