About The Position

New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Part-Time Customer Service Clerk at their Downtown Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Co-op operates differently as a co-operative, focusing on serving Western Canadians, returning profits to communities, and investing in sustainable growth. The role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with bagging and packaging merchandise, performing carry-out services, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The team supports member-owners by providing products and services that help build, fuel, feed, and grow Western Canadian communities.

Requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to customer service
Enthusiastic approach to work
Able to work independently and in a team
Some heavy lifting may be required, up to 50lbs
Availability to work on a very flexible schedule (morning and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends)

Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide an excellent customer experience in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
Assist customers at the front end by bagging, wrapping, and packaging merchandise carefully to support checkout operations.
Perform carry-out services for customers upon request and as directed by front-end staff.
Maintain checkout readiness by restocking supplies required to support cashiers and front-end operations.
Ensure the checkout area, sales floor, and back-stock areas remain clean, organized, and free of clutter or debris to promote a safe and welcoming shopping environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
