About The Position

This role involves verifying and maintaining records for incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and processing information from various sources. The associate will handle data entry, resolve inconsistencies, request further information for incomplete documents, and ensure accuracy in all data processed. Key responsibilities include preparing shipping documents, maintaining inventory, tracking goods using technology, and reporting any defective materials or questionable conditions. Accuracy and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by comparing identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
  • Processes information from different departments and customers, and a variety of other forms of documents by resolving inconsistencies and reviewing data for errors using standard data entry procedures.
  • Requests further information for documents that are deemed incomplete.
  • Enters information into specific document formats received electronically or hand-written pages or figures contained in printed files.
  • Prepares all shipping documents, which includes bills of lading and manifests by entering them into the prescribed system software.
  • Maintains inventory of shipments / cargo on-hand in the warehouse.
  • Performs all computer or necessary technology gadgets necessary to track various aspects of goods.
  • Deciphers sloppy handwriting, faded text and transforms into digital or electronic data information.
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Double checks system information for errors or duplicate information before submitting or transmitting most especially reports being sent to our customers.
  • Accesses online browser-based systems for online data entry.
  • Ensures completion of data entry assignment within prescribed timeframes.
  • Inputs all types of data into computer programs to store the information for future use.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper operation of equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling practices. Promotes a culture of safety awareness among team members.
