Customer Service Associate - Temporary
About The Position
The Customer Service Associate models and delivers a distinctive, delightful customer experience while processing sales at an assigned cash register. The role provides courteous, fair, friendly, fast, and efficient checkout service; greets customers and patients, offers assistance with products and services, resolves issues, and answers questions. It also demonstrates customer-service best practices and Walgreens service traits to team members. The position supports store operations by recommending products, processing purchases and related transactions, maintaining merchandise and displays, and following asset-protection and regulated-product requirements. Additional duties include stocking and inventory tasks, photo-area services, web order pickup, store maintenance, and completing assigned training and other tasks. This is a temporary position.
Requirements
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, except in Puerto Rico.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and patients, offer assistance with products and services, resolve issues, and answer questions.
- Model and share customer-service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommend items, trade-up purchases, and companion items.
- Register purchases; collect cash and provide change; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
- Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; take inventory and maintain records.
- Check in and price merchandise as required or as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
- Implement company asset-protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
- Comply with state and local laws regarding regulated products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
- Construct and maintain promotional, seasonal, super-structure, and sale displays; complete resets and revisions as directed.
- Assist with food separation and product placement according to policies and procedures; rotate consumable stock using first-in, first-out methods and restock outs.
- Maintain working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provide photo-area customer service, including digital passport photos, poster printing, creative machine services, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
- Monitor Picture Care Plus web pickup orders, pick items, and deliver orders to customers when they arrive at the store.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to keep the store clean, neat, orderly, and presentable.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the manager or assigned by corporate.
