About The Position
The Customer Service Associate welcomes customers to Lowe’s, provides friendly and professional service, and helps customers identify products and services for their home improvement needs. The role involves listening and responding to customer questions, helping locate and select merchandise, occasionally loading merchandise, and ensuring customer needs are met. Associates work in a department determined by store hiring needs and their skillsets, such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Tools, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily responsibilities may vary by department.
Requirements
- Six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help provide customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
