About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and handling, and help customers through shopping or checkout. You also organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and prepare products based on customer needs. Department assignments depend on hiring needs and skillsets and may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. The role may involve occasional loading of merchandise and cross-training in other store areas. Work conditions can include indoor and outdoor environments, varying climates, noise, and moving equipment or objects. The role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
