About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes Lowe’s customers and helps them find products and services for home improvement projects. The role combines customer service with product assistance, merchandise organization, and occasional loading. Associates are assigned to a department according to hiring needs and skillsets, which may include appliances, cabinets, flooring, nursery, garden, hardware, tools, millwork, building materials, plumbing, electrical, paint, home décor, tool rental, or Pro Services. Daily responsibilities vary by department. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in changing weather and climate conditions, exposure to noise and moving equipment, and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. The role is part-time and pays $16.90–$17.20 per hour; starting pay may vary based on factors such as position, location, education, training, and experience.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise and guide them through shopping or checkout.
Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Perform other duties as assigned.
