About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes Lowe’s customers and helps them find products and services for their home improvement needs. The role combines customer service with product assistance, merchandise organization, and occasional loading. Associates work in a department assigned according to hiring needs and skillsets, such as appliances, cabinets, flooring, garden, hardware, tools, building materials, plumbing, electrical, paint, home décor, tool rental, or Pro Services. Daily duties can vary by department and may include preparing merchandise for customers, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting materials.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• A trade-related certification relevant to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help provide customer service.
• Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
