About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes Lowe’s customers and helps them find products and services for home improvement projects. The role involves listening to customers, answering questions, locating and selecting merchandise, providing shopping or checkout guidance, and occasionally loading merchandise. Associates organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries accurately, and may prepare products to meet customer needs, such as tinting paint, cutting pipe, wood, drywall, or blinds. Duties vary by department and hiring needs; possible departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. Associates may cross-train in other store areas and perform other assigned duties. The position may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in indoor and outdoor conditions with variable weather, noise, and moving equipment. Physical duties can include prolonged standing or sitting and lifting merchandise, following Lowe’s lifting guidelines.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
A certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Perform other duties as assigned.
