About The Position

Lowe’s is hiring a part-time Customer Service Associate to welcome customers, help them find appropriate products and services for home improvement projects, and provide friendly, professional service. Associates listen to customers, answer questions, help select and handle merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Most work involves customer interaction and organizing merchandise, though daily duties vary by department and store hiring needs. Departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, including heat, cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty environments. Associates may encounter noise and moving or shaking equipment. Lifting methods depend on the role, weight, and volume; single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, and team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment must be used as required, with proper training or help from a trained coworker. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Military or veteran background; Lowe’s encourages military and veteran applicants.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
