About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. You welcome customers, answer questions, help them locate and select merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. The role involves listening and assisting throughout the day, organizing and replenishing merchandise, accurately processing orders and deliveries, and occasionally loading merchandise. Daily responsibilities vary by department and may include preparing products to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. Associates may work in departments including Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services, based on hiring needs and skillsets. The position may require occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Work may take place indoors or outdoors in varying weather and climates, with possible exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines and use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
