About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. You interact with customers throughout the day, answer questions, help select and handle merchandise, and occasionally load merchandise. Most of your time is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise. Department and daily duties vary based on hiring needs and skillsets. Possible departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor environments, varying climates, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
• Military or veteran experience; Lowe's strongly encourages military and veteran candidates to apply.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help provide customer service.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
