About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide helpful, professional service and genuine care to customers shopping for home improvement products and services. You welcome customers, help them locate and select merchandise, answer questions, and guide them through shopping or checkout. Associates work in a department based on hiring needs and skillsets, such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily duties vary by department and may include organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, preparing products to meet customer needs, and occasionally loading merchandise. The position is part-time. It may involve prolonged standing or sitting, lifting merchandise, working in indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to varying weather and noise, and use of powered equipment when properly trained. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise in the department based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
