About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you welcome customers and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure customer needs are met. You will work in a department determined by hiring needs and your skillsets; possible departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. Daily responsibilities may vary by department. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in changing weather and climate conditions, exposure to noise and moving or shaking equipment, and physical tasks such as prolonged standing or sitting and lifting merchandise. Travel is not regularly required, but occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• A trade-related certification relevant to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
