About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. The role includes assisting customers, operating a cash register, maintaining cash security and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, and helping unload trucks. Associates also maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and other areas, while supporting a positive, safe, and respectful environment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Help ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
