About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them select and handle merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. You may occasionally load merchandise and prepare products for customers, such as tinting or mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. Associates work in a department determined by hiring needs and skillsets. Departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. Daily responsibilities may vary by department. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in indoor or outdoor conditions with varying climates and noise.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, and cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
