About The Position

The Customer Service Associate combines customer service skills with care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping at Lowe’s. The role welcomes customers, helps them find products and services for home improvement projects, answers questions, and supports their shopping or checkout experience. Associates may work in a range of store departments, depending on hiring needs and skillsets, including Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily responsibilities vary by department and may include organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing products to meet customer needs. The position may involve occasional merchandise loading, work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, exposure to noise and moving equipment, and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. The role is part-time.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to help provide customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Perform other duties as assigned.
