About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes customers to Lowe’s and helps them find the products and services they need for home improvement projects. The role combines customer service with product assistance, merchandise handling, and department-specific tasks. Associates work in a department based on hiring needs and their skillsets, such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Tools, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Duties can vary by department and may include preparing merchandise such as mixing paint, cutting pipe or wood, or cutting blinds. The position involves working with customers throughout the day and may require occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the role.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• A certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting materials.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
