About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you welcome customers and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them select and handle merchandise, and occasionally load merchandise. You also organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and prepare products based on customer needs. Associates work in a department determined by hiring needs and skillsets, and may cross-train in other store areas. Departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. Duties may vary by department.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
