About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes customers to Lowe’s and helps them identify and select products and services for home improvement projects. The role focuses on listening to customers, answering questions, locating and handling merchandise, and providing friendly, professional service. Associates may occasionally load merchandise and help customers shop or check out. Responsibilities vary by department and may include preparing products to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. Associates work in a department determined by store hiring needs and their skillsets, including appliances, cabinets, flooring, live nursery, inside garden, hardware, tools, millwork, building materials, plumbing, electrical, paint, home décor, tool rental, or Pro Services. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; use team lifts minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise and services.
Downstock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
