About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes customers to Lowe’s and helps them find products and services for home improvement needs. The role combines customer service with product assistance, merchandise organization, and occasional loading. Associates work in a department based on hiring needs and skillsets, such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily responsibilities may vary by department. The position involves interacting with customers throughout the day, listening and answering questions, helping customers select and handle merchandise, and preparing products to meet customer needs. Associates may work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, and may encounter noise and moving or shaking equipment. Travel is not regularly required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare department merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Perform other duties as assigned.
