About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help shoppers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, help them select and handle merchandise, and guide them through shopping or checkout. Most of your time is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, though daily duties vary by department. Departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. The role may involve occasional merchandise loading, preparing products to meet customer needs, and working indoors or outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions. Occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed, but regular travel is not required.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
• Military or veteran background.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
