About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes customers to Lowe’s and helps them find products and services for home improvement projects. Associates listen to customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, and guide them through shopping or checkout. They may occasionally load merchandise and prepare products according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. Associates also organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and may cross-train in other store areas. Department assignments depend on hiring needs and skillsets and may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climates, exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment, and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, use powered equipment as required, and have proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Proper training or assistance from a trained coworker when using powered equipment.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the assigned department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and restocking supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, and cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
