About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help shoppers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, assist with locating and handling merchandise, and help guide them through shopping or checkout. The role includes organizing and replenishing merchandise, accurately processing orders and deliveries, and preparing products according to customer needs. Depending on hiring needs and skillsets, associates work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Tools, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Responsibilities may vary by department, and associates may cross-train in other store areas. The position may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, as well as indoor and outdoor work in variable weather and exposure to noise and moving equipment.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and restocking supplies.
• Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
