About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome and assist customers, answer questions, help with product selection and shopping or checkout, and occasionally load merchandise. You also organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and prepare products for customers as needed. Responsibilities may vary by department, which can include appliances, cabinets, flooring, nursery and garden, hardware, tools, millwork, building materials, plumbing, electrical, paint, home décor, tool rental, or Pro Services. The role may involve cross-training in other store areas and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Work can take place indoors or outdoors in varying weather and noise conditions, with moving equipment and objects. Associates must follow safe lifting guidelines and use powered equipment only with proper training or assistance.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise and services for their home improvement needs.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
