About The Position

The Customer Service Associate welcomes Lowe’s customers and helps them find products and services for home improvement projects. The role involves listening to customers, answering questions, helping them locate and select merchandise, and ensuring their needs are met. Associates may occasionally load merchandise and spend time organizing products. Department assignments depend on store hiring needs and the associate’s skillset, and may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily responsibilities may vary by department.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• A certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
