About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. You welcome customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and merchandise handling, and help ensure their needs are met. Most of the work involves listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, though daily duties vary by department and store needs. Associates may work in Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. The role may involve occasional merchandise loading and preparing products to meet customer needs. Travel is not regularly required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions may include indoor and outdoor environments, variable or extreme weather, noise, and moving equipment or objects.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
