About The Position
The Customer Service Associate welcomes customers to Lowe’s, helps them find products and services for home improvement projects, and provides friendly, professional support throughout their shopping experience. Associates listen to customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, guide customers through shopping or checkout, and occasionally load merchandise. The role is assigned to a store department based on hiring needs and the associate’s skillset. Departments may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Duties vary by department and may include preparing merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. Associates may also cross-train in other areas of the store. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be required, but regular travel is not required.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

- Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, which may include tinting and mixing paint; cutting and threading pipe; cutting and bundling wood; cutting drywall; and cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Occasionally travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores as needed.
