About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you combine customer service skills with care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping and solve home improvement challenges. You welcome customers, help them find and select products and services, and ensure their needs are met. The role may involve working in Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services, depending on hiring needs and skillsets. Daily responsibilities vary by department and can include organizing merchandise, occasionally loading merchandise, and preparing products to customer specifications. The role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions may include indoor and outdoor environments, varied climates, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, use team lifts where indicated, and use powered equipment only as required and with proper training or assistance.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• A certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
