About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, listen to their questions, assist with product selection and handling, and help ensure their needs are met. The position is assigned to a store department according to hiring needs and skillsets; departments may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Most of the day is spent interacting with customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise. Duties vary by department and may include replenishing shelves, processing orders and deliveries, preparing merchandise to meet customer needs, and guiding customers through shopping or checkout. Associates may cross-train in other store areas. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions and climates.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
